The execution spot has been placed between the two gates – the main gate and that of the manor house. No, that obviously hastily erected wooden construction of death does not resemble a scaffold at all: a simple slip-knot, two poles connected by a beam, and a … footstool. Two golems swiftly lay me down on my back, and one of them puts the rope around my neck. They don’t even have to tie my hands.
Seconds later, everyone, everything is in place.
Julija comes closer, and she bends down, moving the footstool away from my feet with her own hands. She then steadies me, presses the left side of her head against my chest, hugs me tightly, and lifts her legs.
